SEREMBAN: (Bernama) Umno Youth grassroots members generally understand the issue that arose between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the movement's vice head Khairy Jamaluddin said Saturday.
He said they already knew the problems and wished to focus on the real struggle -the implementation of the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) and the next general election.
"However, Umno Youth leader Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has issued a statement that the Youth wing's leadership will explain the matter to the grassroots," he told reporters when met at a Hari Raya open house at the residence of the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan at Kampung Tanjung, Rantau near here, Saturday.
He was commenting on the differences between the Prime Minister and his predecessor after a meeting between them at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, last Sunday.
Asked whether the differences between the two leaders would be raised in the Umno General Assembly next month, he said, he did not know whether the issue would be raised or not.
He said, Hishammuddin would probably focus more on the 9MP in his policy speech at the assembly.
