Khairy: PAS relocating voters

(The Star) KOTA BARU: Umno Youth vice chief Khairy Jamaluddin said PAS was trying to relocate its members from its strongholds to areas they considered no longer safe for the party.

He said PAS had begun to do that after the last general election.

Khairy urged the Election Commission and National Registration Department to investigate the matter.

Speaking to reporters after opening a programme to identify young voters organised by Kelantan Umno Youth here yesterday, he said changing addresses was not in breach of election regulations but was “very unfair” because it was done for the sole purpose of winning an election.

Khairy also said that Kelantan Umno Youth must ensure that at least 60% of the 150,000 members who had registered as voters cast their votes in the next general election.

If the 60% target was achieved, Barisan Nasional would be able to take over the state government from PAS in the next general election, he said.
